Guess there was no way that Brett could win with his "Pants on the ground". He looked like a fool.

I'm over my heartbreak of the Cowboys losing last week, and I say like any loser fan says, wait til next year.  Jets are on a roll, but I think that ends this week.  Poor San Diego, I feel bad for LT, and Norv is Perv.  Brees Vs Manning!

NFC Championship Game: Vikes vs. Saints

This will be a battle of two elite Qbs, and Defense vs. Offense.  I like New Orleans at home, and out scoring Minnesota.

Saints over the Vikes 31-24

AFC Championship Game:  Jets Vs Colts

An old school AfC game, joe namath vs. Johnny Unitis or Peyton Manning vs Dirty Sanchez

I think it comes to an end this week for the Jets,

Colts over the Jets 21 - 3

God vs Ratty
Well, it's a tough matchup for Ratty, here, what with God being all powerful and Ned Flanders being the QB that he is. But I'm in a situation where I've watched a lot of Saints games this year, and what I've taken away is this; the Saints can get up for the big game. They can blow out teams if they get juiced up and work their game plan. And having basically 2 full weeks to prepare for this one, I'm anticipating a blowout.

Saints > Cards

Colts vs Ravens
This is another one thats a pretty easy pick. Ray Rice is adorable and everything, but.......

Manning > Flacco

Fags vs Wrangler

Here's the thing, it's time for Favre to implode. There's no way this thing ends with Favre winning the superbowl and walking into the sunset. Its not  meant to be. We saw signs of it falling apart with Childress earlier this year, and that shits gonna boil over. They better plan on running the hell out of the ball with AP, or it's going down in flames.  Things couldn't be going better in Big Duumptown, either. They've got no pressure and Wade doesn't have to do much thinking with them playing well.

Boys > Old man

Jets vs Chargers

I fucking hate the Chargers. And hot dogs are delicious

Well, if last weeks 51-45 offensive show had you pumped, wait until this week, when Kurt Warner faces a worse defense (Green Bay was #2 in the NFL), New Orleans is ranked 25th...ugh oh).  The way the Cardinals played on Defense doesn't make me think that they can stop Drew Brees though, so this could surpass triple digits by the time its all said an done.  Brees vs. Warner, gotta give the edge to Warner in experience, and accuracy.  Run game is pretty equal, but receiving, Arizona gets the edge.  With Neil Rackers pissing himself after that kick he missed last week, I'll bet he's on this week.  New Orleans rested their starters the last couple weeks, and i feel they will just come in flat, sorry Ratty.

Prediction:  Arizona over New Orleans - 45-34

Youre silly.

First, Drew Brees set a record for the highest completion percentage ever this season.

Second, We are not the same in rushing. The Saints are top 5 in most rushing categories, including yards/per rush and yards/ per game. The Cardinals are the bottom of the league in most of those categories.

Saints 42 Cardinals 21

Well, Its almost that time again in this weeks matchups in NFL playoff football.  It was Kurt Warner that came out shining, and Tom Brady going home whining this past weekend.  Recapping a mostly snoozefest in the first 3 games, Cinci bungled away another good season (actually their only 2nd winning season since 1991), and their kicker missed two gimme field goals.  Prediction, he won't be kicking for Cinci next year.  The jets cruised to a 24-14 victory.  The next game had me nervous, but my Cowboys prevailed in a 34-14 domination of the Eagles.  The Eagles arguably biggest play came on a long bomb from Michael 'the dog killer' Vick.  The Patriots came out and flat out embarrassed themselves by giving the Ravens 20 points right off turnovers.  The era and dynasty appears all but closed in New England, and the Patriots were sent packing in a 33-14 shellacking.  Now, the best game of the weekend involved Kurt Warner of the Arizona Cardinals, 38 years old, going 27-31 and throwing 5 touchdowns with 379 yards, and Aaron Rodgers of Green Bay throwing 422 Yards and 4 touchdowns.  The Cardinals slipped by the Pack in a monstrous offensive show 51-45.  Kurt Warner threw more touchdowns than incompletions, and still threw over 30 passes, that has never happened before, and could may never happen again...Wow!  Now onto this weeks matchups and banter.

NFC Divisional Game 1
Saturday January 16th, 2010
Arizona Cardinals @ New Orleans Saints

AFC Divisional Game 1
Saturday January 16th, 2010
Baltimore Ravens @ Indianapolis Colts

This game should be Indy's to lose.  They are rested just like New Orleans, but they have 4 time NFL mvp Peyton Manning, who can do no wrong.  Baltimore will surely be playing killer defense, and should give Indy fits all day.  I think this might be the upset of the weekend that noone is focusing on that much.  Indy won't be able to establish the run against the Ravens, and that will force Manning to throw more which will get to be very predictable.  On offense, the Ravens will run the ball, and Ray Rice will surpass 100 yards again.  The Ravens are destined to get back to the AFC Championship game again for the 2nd year in a row, but Joe Cool Hands Flacco needs to step it up if they want to go far.

Prediction:  Ravens over the Colts 28-24

NFC Divisional Game 2
Sunday January 17th, 2010
Dallas Cowboys @ Minnesota Vikings

Well, if my Cowboys want a shot at that Superbowl, they will have to march through Minnesota. This looks to be a tough game on either end, and should be a defensive battle.  Minnesota has a stellar defense with Jared Allen, and Dallas has one with Demarcus Ware.  Both have Run games with Minnesota in Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor, and Cowboys with Marion Barber, Felix Jones, and Tashard Choice.  Brett Farve wants another superbowl, but he's been too good this year, even for Brett.  He has limited his mistakes, but I can see him looking like the old Brett Farve come Sunday under the pressure of the Cowboys Defense.  Tony Romo has looked solid, and has aims to win another playoff game.  Now that Wade Cupcake Phillips has gotten the monkey off his back, he plans to ride that monkey all the way to Miami.

Prediction : Cowboys over the Vikings 31-17

AFC Divisional Game 2
Sunday January 17th, 2010
New York Jets @ San Diego Chargers

With the relentless Jets defense, if anyone can stop the Chargers offense, you would think it would be the Jets.  Only thing is, I don't think they will.  The Chargers are on a huge win streak, so everyone is either split saying that the Chargers are due to lose, or will cruise.  I like the cruising of the Chargers, as they have speed in Sproles and LT, and the QB advantage in Phillip Rivers.  They have the recieving core anyone would want on their team, size, speed, and great hands.  They even have defense that can matchup with the inexperienced Mark Sanchez.  Sanchez really didn't have to throw much against New England, but I could see him having to force some throws this weekend.  Jets better step it up even more if they want to pull an even bigger upset.

Prediction: Chargers over the Jets 31-14

Jets > Bengals
The Bengals have two major things going against them:  Larry Johnson, and the fact that they are the Bengals.  The Bengals fans are used to being disappointed and expect the worst, and usually that ends up as a self fulfilling prophesy. Add in the terrible karma that Larry Johnson brings with him, and thats a recipe for defeat.  At the end of this game, we'll see Sanchize enjoying some celebratory hot dogs.

Cowboys > Eagles
As long as I can remember, I've rooted against the Cowboys. Well no more! My hatred for the puppy strangler trumps my hatred for Ameritard's team. I can only hope Wade and boys don't figure out a way to fuck up things as they usually do.

Patriots > Ravens
This is a tough call for me. The Ravens should win, they have all the tools and the Pats are kind of a shitty team this year. But I think Belichek has done some research in his moo moos this week, and figured out what to do to stop Baltimore's offense. Just take Ray Rice out of the game, and put all the pressure on Joe.  Flacco has been suck fest in the second half of the year, and I think he chokes big time under this pressure. I'm thinking we see at least 3 INTs from him in this game. The Patriots also have the bonus of getting a free penalty everytime Brady is touched. I'm guessing Brady cries them to a victory in this one.

Green Bay Neils > Cardinals
I think Neil has the mental edge in this one.  The cheese has been out in the desert for two weeks now, and that means they're gonna put some STANK on the Cards.

Num13e12s Writes:

Alright people lets get pumped for the NFL Playoffs.  We have some 3 games this week that appeared on tv last week, so some intrigue nonetheless.  I will try my best to give my overview and updates each week for all the games, and I would like to get some good discussion going, so without further ado:

New York Jets @ Cincinnati Bengals -
3:30 PM
Saturday January 9, 2010
AFC Wild Card Game 1

- While this game is probably the most boring of the 4 matchup's, I as a sports fan and football fan will be tuned in.  Both teams have strong running games so there I can't give an edge to either team.  I would give the edge to the Jets defense, although throughout the year the Bengals have proven to be a solid defensive opponent as well.  Who would have predicted the Bengals would have been at the top of the standings in a tough nosed division, and then on top of it all to have them sweep the Steelers, Ravens and Browns.  In the passing game, I have to give the edge to Carson Palmer, mainly because Sanchez is a rookie, though both teams have transitioned to run offenses.  Until Sanchez sheds that rookie rust and steps up in a big game like Saturday, I have to go with the proven vet in Carson Palmer.  Final prediction - Bengals over the Jets: 24 - 21

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys -
Saturday January 9,2010
7:00 PM
NFC WildCard Game 1

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a diehard Cowboys fan; have been since the glory days of Jimmy Johnson, and frankly it seems so long ago since those glory days.  Lets face it, the Cowboys haven't been that playoff team in  along time, and its been 13 years since they have won a playoff game.  While my gut tells me they are due, I still look too history, and they haven't been solid since those glory days.  The eagles were riding a hot streak of 6 straight wins until last week, where they ran into the Dallas Cowboys at Dallas stadium, and they got blasted 24-0.  This wasn't an eagles team that had nothing to play for, and who just laid down.  This was an eagles team that had the #2 seed and first round bye in their sights, and they flat out got out played.  I think talent wise, and proven vets, you gotta give the edge to the Eagles.  I would take Donovan Mcnabb, Brian Westbrook, and Deshawn Jackson over Tony Romo, Miles Austin, and the combo of Felix Jones and Marion Barber.  This year though, with building injuries, I would stick with the Cowboys trio.  In terms of tight end, any other year I would say Jason Whitten gives the Cowboys the edge, but Brent Celek has quietly stepped up to become the Eagles leading receiver this year, and he is a dangerous 3rd down threat.

Final Prediction - Cowboys over the Eagles 27-17

Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots
Sunday January 10, 2010
12:00 PM
AFC Wild Card Game 2

Now, this game prior to Wes Welker getting hurt appeared to be my guarantee for the week.  I had the Patriots at least getting into the divisional round with a relatively easy win over the Ravens.  Well, things quickly changed when the Patriots leading receiver got the bad news of a torn mcl/acl season ending knee injury on Sunday.  Hands down, the Patriots have a bad defense regardless of what stats show that they are the 12th best defense in the NFL.  They have blown more games this year than most teams, and it seems they have no answer in the secondary.  I would say Baltimore has the defensive edge by a long shot.  Run game also goes to Baltimore with Ray Rice, and Willis Mcgahee over the Patriots patchwork run game in Fred Taylor, Lawrence Maroney, Sammy Morris, and Kevin Faulk.  A healthy Randy Moss is better than two combined Ravens aging receivers, so I would give them the edge, but all the ravens need to do is double and triple cover Moss, and its ballgame.  The Patriots have in reserve, rookie Julian Edelman to back up an injured Welker, and a banged up underachieving Benjamin Watson.  They do have Tom Brady, a 3 broken ribbed Tom Brady, but still Tom Brady, who in his career in the playoffs has never lost a playoff game at Gillette Field.  On the other side, the Ravens have Mr. Cool, 2nd year QB Joe Flacco, who has shown great strides this year, and much poise.  Even if the Patriots surprise me and get past the Ravens, they aren't going anywhere  In a game on the line, I still would have to give the edge to a 3 broken ribbed Tom Brady.  With all this, I predict:

Final Prediction:  Ravens 24 Patriots 13

Green Bay Packers @ Arizona Cardinals -
Sunday January 10, 2010
3:40 PM
NFC Wild Card Game 2

This game has the most intrigue, excitement, and anticipation.  Two high flying offenses that could easily top 40 points each in this game.  The Green Bay Packers finished as the #2 defense in the league which could give Kurt Warner some fits during the day, so I would give the defensive edge to Green Bay.  You have Aaron Rodgers and a plethora of receivers on one side, and Kurt Warner and another Plethora of receivers on the other side.  Its almost a dead even match up there, but I would give the slight edge to Arizona in having a veteran in Kurt Warner, and more experienced receivers in Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald.  Both teams are abysmal in the run this year, with Arizona still transitioning from Tim Hightower to fumble prone and rookie Beanie Wells, and Ryan Grant for Green Bay, having a disappointing season.  Both teams have solid kickers, and both special teams are even.  This is going to be a great match up, probably the best of the weekend.  Forget home field Advantage as Arizona is 4-4 at home this year, and Green Bay is 5-3 on the road.

Final Prediction - Green Bay over Arizona : 35 - 27

Feel Free to post comments, and questions, and look forward to next weeks installment of Numbers NFL Playoffs Banter.
